String of bad luck or Lights' out

I don't know if this is the correct way of saying string of bad luck. What happened? First my dining area light's bulb are out so I have bought a new one to replace it. Then the same night my room's table's light bulb's out. Okay, who is playing with me?

I have only bought a light bulb and each light bulb in my room and dining area as well as my toilet's one are different. Shopping for a light bulb is not easy as you have to test them before buying. Worst still if the testing area is out of power.

Do you keep extra light bulb at home? Now my gate's light's bulb is out. I have to go shopping again but not sure when I am free. Should this be call string of bad luck or lights' out?

You have to test the bulbs? All I ever need to do is shake them (if they rattle, they're broken). And, fortunately, nearly all my light sockets are of the same type - so I only stock 2 different types of bulbs. But, yes, I do keep a backup stock.
