Water tank

Do you know about water tank? I am sure that every home and shop would have at least one of it. Is there any different between water tank and rain water tank ? I think they are the same. I know my house has three water tanks. The other day my room's ceiling having water dripping and my dad asked the plumber to check. He said its one of the water tanks having leakage.
